ELECTION GUIDELINES
A. Aspirants with degree certificates or HND must present NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificates.
1. An Aspirant for the position of legal advisor must have been called to bar.
2. An aspirant for the positions of auditor one and two must have a professional qualifications of either ANAN, ICAN, CIBN or it's equivalent
B. Aspirant for President, vice president and General secretary must not be below 28 years of age
C. Aspirant for other positions in the exco shall not be below the age of 25 years
D. All aspirant and delegates must have at least 60% attendance of his/her branch before the election year and must be recommended by his/her unit chairman/ district/ branch chairman and district hate formally
E. During the screening exercise, the district/ branch on behalf of the members /aspirants and delegates shall present clearance to the ELCOM from the MYM National secretariat as evidence of payment of registration, annual dues , levy and attendance of meeting from 2021 to 2024
F. Aspirant shoot study the constitutional provision of section 14 of the MYM constitution for disqualification conditions
G. All branch and district within Mangu local government area will cast their votes at their various district head offices, while, diaspora will cast their votes at the MYM National secretariat, Ntam.
H. All district /branches within mangu LGA shell produce their delegates on 1:20 (one to ratio 20 members), while the diaspora branches shall be 1:10 (one to ratio 10 members)
1. Delegates, outgoing NEC and aspirant shall be captured in their units and vote at their respective district head's offices, for those within the Mwaghavul chiefdoms, Mangu LGA, Plateau State, Nigeria: while those in the diaspora and former presidents shall vote at the MYM National secretariat (the coalition center)
J. Aspirants in active politics during screening must submit to the elcom there later of resignation from partisan activities for the period of their tenure in office if elected, such later must be acknowledged by the political party of their respective political wards.
ELECTION PROCEDURES
1. The list of delegates shall be compiled by unit (village) chairman and transmitted to the district/ branch chairman for onward transmission to the electoral committee (ELCOM) for a conspicuous timely publication at the National secretariat not later than 21 days to the date of the election
2. Only branch /district chairman will be allowed to collect/ return delegate forms within the stipulated time
3. All delegates must be duely registered members of the branch/ district and selected by the respective Congress at a duely conveyed Congress meeting at the branch district
4. In the event of an objection to the status or qualification of any delegate, the concerned branch/ district chairman shall be responsible for the sorting of same
5. All aspirants and delegates must have the MYM identity card to be successfully screened and accredited
6. Election shall be by open secret ballot system
7. In the event of a tie or equality of votes, a buy election shall be conducted between/ among the affected candidates as soon as practicable
8. A simple majority vote in favor shall return a candidate as the winner of a contested election
9. An unopposed candidate shall be required to pull a simple majority of the entire votes at the election
10. During the national convention all past presidents shall vote before any electoral college.
11. Diaspora delegates must be resident within the jurisdiction of his/ her branch
12. All sections of the reviewed constitutional provisions of the 2017 remains applicable where necessary
