THE COORDINATOR, "SAFE SCHOOL", MR. LADAN, ALONGSIDE OTHERS, TAKES ACTION AFTER SCHOOL COLLAPSE IN JOS.

 


Mr. Alex Ladan, the Plateau State Coordinator, Safe School, along with Mr. Bankat (JMDB GM), information commissioner, women's affairs commissioner, education commissioner, and others including engineers and emergency responders, rushed to the scene of the collapsed Saint Academy yesterday.


Following the incident, they visited hospitals that the surviving victims were receiving treatment at, such as Bingham University Teaching hospital/Jankwano, Plateau Hospital, and Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), to ensure their safety and address the situation's impact on the school, students, and their well-being.


Mr. Ladan offered his condolences to the parents of the affected students and expressed his sympathy to the Governor and the entire people of Plateau State. He emphasized the importance of structural reviews in all schools to prevent similar tragedies. He proposed collaboration between the Safe Schools Initiative he leads and some relevant MDAs, JMDB inclusive, to develop a long-term solution by ascertaining the structural integrity of all schools, particularly the private schools towards prevent future occurrences.
