The Plateau State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, along with the Gender and Equal Opportunities Commission, is taking a strong stance against child trafficking!
We've heard your concerns regarding the viral video of Plateau girls allegedly trafficked to Ghana. Rest assured, we're working closely with the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) and Ghanaian security agencies to ensure their safe return.
Governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang is a champion for social welfare protection. He prioritizes the safety of our women, young girls, and children from all forms of exploitation.
Here's the progress we're making in the fight against child trafficking and child labor:
MAJOR TRAFFICKERS APPREHENDED: In collaboration with the Joint Taskforce and NURTW, we've cracked down on a major child trafficking kingpin operating in Plateau State.
CHILDREN RESCUED: Based on confessions, we've made several arrests and rescued over 23 Plateau children. They're currently safe in our care.
ORPHANAGES SHUT DOWN: With the help of NAPTIP, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, and law enforcement, we've shut down two illegal orphanages. The owners are now in custody.
We need your help!
