Mission For The Vulnerable and Displaced Citizens (MIVUDI-CITIZENS) is a humanitarian organization with a proven track record of supporting Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Plateau State, Nigeria. We are committed to expanding our reach across North Central Nigeria. While we've implemented various programs to improve the lives of IDPs, a new and disturbing trend has emerged.
A CRISIS OF EXPLOITATION
In the wake of conflict and displacement, the struggles of IDPs extend far beyond finding shelter. A desperate need for food has pushed some young women and mothers in many camps to resort to prostitution, creating a critical humanitarian crisis demanding immediate action.

MIVUDI-CITIZENS recognizes that food insecurity is the root cause of this exploitation. Deprived of their livelihoods, women are forced into unimaginable choices. However, there's a beacon of hope – the women themselves. During our recent visit, they expressed a strong desire not just for handouts, but for the chance to rebuild their lives with dignity. They are the ones proposing a powerful solution: starting small businesses.
