AMBASSADOR NEHEMIAH MUTFWANG RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS AGENDA 2063 AMBASSADORIAL HONOUR FROM THE AFRICAN UNION

Plateau State’s Influence Ascends on the Continental Stage

In a distinguished ceremony characterized by elegance, protocol, and inspirational narratives, Ambassador Nehemiah Manasseh Mutfwang was formally conferred with the prestigious Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Honour by the African Union. This recognition celebrates exceptional leadership, commitment to sustainable development, and impactful community transformation aligned with the African Union’s 50-year strategic framework—Agenda 2063.

The ceremony, held on Tuesday, May 14, 2025, commenced with a solemn invocation and the national pledge, evoking a deep sense of patriotism. Attended by eminent diplomats, senior government officials, scholars, and community stakeholders, the highlight of the occasion was the investiture protocol, during which Ambassador Mutfwang was decorated by Amb. Dr. Odewale Abdulwaheed. His citation was presented by Dr. Clement Kuliyak, capturing the breadth of his contributions across multiple sectors.

In his opening remarks, Amb. Dr. Odewale described Ambassador Mutfwang as a visionary leader whose remarkable footprint in both the private sector and grassroots development has improved lives, empowered communities, and inspired future leaders. He noted that Mutfwang’s achievements stand as a model of excellence deserving continental recognition.

Mr. Wilson Manji, Technical and Diaspora Engagement Adviser to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, echoed similar sentiments. He described Mutfwang as “a man of distinction whose life embodies selfless service and a transformative legacy across various domains.”

In his acceptance speech, Ambassador Mutfwang expressed humility and appreciation. He shared that the recognition came unexpectedly, following a recommendation from Dr. Wale—despite years of lost contact. “I did not lobby or campaign for this,” he stated. “I was simply asked to submit my CV. The team must have found something compelling in it, and today, we are here.”

He emphasized his commitment to leveraging the appointment for the benefit of Plateau State, especially as he has been assigned to the Peace and Security cluster within the Ambassadorial Assembly—a critical area for his home state. “I already have a team on the ground. The task ahead is significant, but we are prepared. Through knowledge exchange, strategic partnerships, and meaningful collaboration, we aim to deliver real impact,” he affirmed.

Ambassador Mutfwang’s credentials reflect a deep-rooted expertise in development administration and strategic leadership. He is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University and Bayero University, with further global exposure through the World Bank, IFC, United States Institute of Peace, and Liberty University. His leadership philosophy aligns with all nine pillars of the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

His diverse portfolio includes real estate enterprise, entrepreneurship, and nonprofit advocacy through the Goodwill Community Development and Awareness Initiative (GCDAI). These endeavors reveal a rare fusion of intellect, compassion, and results-driven action. His contributions to cultural preservation, youth empowerment, diaspora engagement, and public sector reform underscore a leadership model that is both inclusive and future-oriented.

Hon. Comrade Seshak Wilson Philemon, popularly known as Oruma1, described Mutfwang as “more than a trailblazer—he is a mentor, a leader, and a relentless advocate for youth development and Pan-African ideals.” He added that Mutfwang’s journey continues to inspire and shape the vision of emerging leaders across the continent.

As the ceremony concluded with resounding applause, it was evident that this honour signifies more than recognition—it is a renewed call to service. Ambassador Nehemiah Mutfwang now stands not only as a proud son of Plateau State and Nigeria but as a recognized ambassador of The Africa We Want.
