On behalf of myself and the Ministry for Women's Affairs, I am honored to heartily congratulate the Grand Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of our dear nation, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu; our altruistic Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang; and indeed all Nigerians on this remarkable Democracy Day.
Today, as we mark 25 years of uninterrupted democracy, we should always remember that the things that divide us are significant, but the things that unite us are stronger. Let us put aside our differences and embrace our unity in diversity. Let us continue to hold on to our common brotherhood before God. Let us, on this day, once again dedicate ourselves afresh to the great task of building a more prosperous, peaceful, and united Nigeria.
Appreciatively, we must not forget the labor of our heroes past who fought tooth and nail to emancipate us from the shackles of dictatorship and who also seized power to stamp out tribalism, nepotism, and regionalism. They set the pace for our freedom and the journey thus far towards greatness as a nation. I am confident that we can still make Nigeria greater than nature and our founding fathers have made it, if our leaders will have the sagacity of an Otto von Bismarck, the wisdom of a Cavour, the adroitness of a Mazzini, the patriotism of a Gandhi, and the selflessness of a Nyerere.
Additionally, as a nation, we are great in size, great in population, handsomely blessed, and richly endowed by a kind and prodigal providence with almost unlimited resources. The challenge now is for all of us, young and old, men and women, to make the nation greater by being resilient, focused, and determined against all odds, especially in these precarious times. We shouldn't be discouraged, knowing fully that better days lie ahead.
Finally, I also believe that, however hopeless our predicaments may seem today as a nation, Nigeria is not absolutely beyond redemption with the quality of leadership at the center and the focused and purposeful leadership demonstrated by the captain of the "TIME IS NOW" administration on the Plateau.
Once again, Happy Democracy Day and congratulations to us all.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
Long live Plateau State!
