Idris Okuneye alias Bobrisky, has been sentenced to six months imprisonment with no option of fine over naira abuse charges
Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos handed the judgement on Friday, April 12, 2024.
Justice Awogboro said the judgment will serve as a deterrent to others who are fond of abusing and mutilating the naira
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned him on a six-count charge.
Two of the charges were later dropped, while he pleaded guilty to naira abuse, but pleaded for mercy as a first-time offender.
The Controversial Nigerian cross-dresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, on Friday, admitted before the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, that he is a man.
Prior to his arrest and subsequent trial for abusing the Naira, Bobrisky had repeatedly denounced his manhood.
He had claimed that he underwent a surgery that successful transformed her into a transgender woman.
However, before he was sentenced to six months in prison without option of fine, trial Justice Abimbola Awogboro asked him his gender and Bobrisky replied: “My lord, I am a man.”
Recall that Bobrisky recently had a spat with controversial musician, Portable, over his transgender claim.
Portable later did a diss track, insisting that Bobrisky is his “brotherhood”, warning him not to enter the ghetto and claim sisterhood, otherwise he would collect firewood (beating).
