THREE YEARS OF DARKNESS IN MANGU HALL: AN URGENT CALL TO ACTION

As of February 2025, parts of Mangu Halle—the headquarters of Mangu Halle Ward—have officially entered their third year without electricity. Shockingly, other areas have remained in total blackout since December 2024. This prolonged power outage is unacceptable.

I write today not just out of frustration, but with a heavy heart and a deep sense of concern for our community. Despite countless reports, appeals, and promises, the light has not returned—and our people continue to suffer in silence.

This is not just any community. Mangu Halle is home to respected politicians with access to the corridors of power, seasoned technocrats, visionary business leaders, renowned academics, courageous civil rights advocates, committed farmers, students, and generous philanthropists. Yet, despite this wealth of influence, our community remains in darkness—both literally and figuratively, we deserve to have a light even in respect for our diverse contribution to humanity.

This is a wake-up call. We must stop treating this issue as “normal.” Our silence is enabling the suffering of our people. The time to speak with one voice is NOW. The time to act is TODAY.

Let there be light in Mangu Halle!
