The Safe Schools Initiative is a collaborative effort that involves security agencies, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The NSCDC plays a vital role in leading the security aspect of the National Safe Schools Programme. In Plateau State, the initiative is committed to establishing a state-level response center to complement this national and international initiative, leveraging a strong partnership with the NSCDC.
A delegation led by Mr. Alex Ladan, Coordinator of the Plateau State Safe Schools Initiative, recently visited the NSCDC Plateau State Command. This advocacy visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and ensure the safety of schools across the state. The meeting was productive, with the NSCDC Plateau State Command expressing their commitment to safeguarding educational institutions.
The NSCDC in it's response stated that they have a response squad specially trained for the program as part of their commitments.
